Noncontact Energy and Data Transfer
The coupling of sensors on moving machine ptypes is a ptypeicular challenge in automation technology. Due to their mechanical nature, conven-
tional solutions with drag chains or slip rings have the disadvantage of a considerable reduction in service life, resulting in regular maintenance and
replacement costs. The WIS module primary from Pepperl+Fuchs GmbH operates in a more intelligent and efficient way.
Greater freedom in plant design
The system consists of four components and enables noncontact power supply and simultaneous communication with sensors on moving
machine ptypes. Up to 1.5 W can be transferred with a maximum operating distance of 5 mm (NDP5-30GM-5M) and of 20 mm (NDP20-FP-V1).
Inductive, capacitive, photoelectric, or ultrasonic sensors can be operated
wirelessly and their signal states evaluated.
WIS offers a wear-free solution for the operation of up to eight sensors on
