Additional Information
Total reflection
A material-specific critical angle exists for
total reflection at the transition from an
optically thick to an optically thin medium.
Beams that strike the boundary surface
at a larger angle are not interrupted but
are reflected back to the optically thicker
medium.
Total resolution
Summarization of the single-turn and
multiturn resolution. Usually specified in bits.
Transfer rate
Data transfer speed for absolute rotary
encoders.
Type D
The term for a diffuse mode sensor in
accordance with EN 60947-5-2.
Type of light
Indicates the emission wavelength of the light
source used in the sensor.
Type R
The term for a retroreflective sensor in
accordance with EN 60947-5-2.
Type T
The term for a thru-beam sensor in
accordance with EN 60947-5-2.
U
ltrasonic thru-beam sensor
(
type T)
ltrasonic thru-beam sensors consist of two
separate active devices: an ultrasonic emitter
and receiver.

Voltage drop
The voltage drop is measured via the active
sensor output.
W
arning field output
Signalizes a fault, short circuit of an
output, LED failure, undershooting of supply
voltage.
Watchdog function
In the event of operational voltage faults
or EMC influences, the Watchdog function
resets the internal micro controller of the
sensor to a defined initial state, i.e., the
program within the sensor restarts.
Window area
The switching output is active if the object
is located in the area delimited by both trip
points A1 and A2.
