Interfaces
The handheld device has different interfaces through which it can
communicate with a computer. In addition to the wireless Bluetooth
interface, the handheld device also has RS232, PS/2, and USB wired
interfaces. You set the parameters of the individual interfaces directly
via the user interface on the handheld device. Compatible interface
accessories are available from Pepperl+Fuchs.
Power supply
A lithium-ion battery provides power to the handheld device. Batteries
and battery chargers are available from Pepperl+Fuchs.

LF R/W System IPT1-FP
The IPT1-FP system can be used if the IDENT read points are
distributed over long distances in the plant. These R/W systems have
a maximum detection range of 100 mm and, in addition to the actual
read/write head, also incorporate the control interface and fieldbus
interface in one device. These devices are designed for use in harsh
industrial applications. They fulfill the IP67 degree of protection and can
be directly connected to the higher-level control unit. Serial interfaces
are available for simple point-to-point connection, addressable RS485
interfaces for creating a simple bus system, and fieldbus interfaces for
PROFIBUS and INTERBUS. We offer special stainless steel designs
for use in the food industry.

GHz R/W System
(
MT System)
The MT system comprises a read/write device and the read-only or
read/write tags. The tags contain a code that cannot be changed,
along with a memory bank for modifiable data. The read/write device
transfers the data to the read-only and read/write tags and can be
connected directly to a higher-level computer, e.g., PC or PLC, via
Ethernet or a serial interface. The read/write device can also be used
in stand-alone mode.
This reader with integrated antenna provides a reading range up to
6
m.

System description
The IDENT
Control
brand represents an innovative identification system.
It enables RFID read/write heads with different operating frequencies
to be connected using an almost identical set of commands, which
facilitates easy integration into the PLC program. Up to four read/write
heads can be connected to IDENT
Control
.
Depending on the type, one
or two read heads can be connected to IDENT
Control
Compact.
Advantages of the IDENT
Control
system
The system is completely shielded and can be easily connected with
a ground potential. The read head cables are also shielded to provide
the highest level of EMC safety.
Up to four read/write heads can be connected and a mixed mode of
different frequency ranges is possible.
Trigger sensors can be connected to start read/write commands.
The quick disconnect design means that all components can be
connected easily and swapped over quickly
The 24 V
DC
power supply is obtained through a separate M12 plug; a
red LED indicates polarity.
The robust aluminum housing can be mounted to the DIN mounting
rail in the control cabinet using the integrated snap-on hook
(
IDENTControl) or suitable mounting aids (IDENTControl Compact). A
simple three-point screw fixing makes it suitable for field mounting in
IP67 applications.
