Identification Systems
Serial
IDENT
Control
IDENT
Control
has a graphic LC display and can display the data that
has been read. It also uses icons to display other information such as the
device status. The plain text display and function keys enable function
tests to be carried out directly after installation, even without the need
for a PLC program.
IDENT
Control
Compact
Suitable for local installation, IDENT
Control
Compact offers high optical
resolution and is ideal for field mounting. As many applications require
up to two RFID read points, this device is ideal for many applications.
The modular construction and command syntax are identical.
IDENT
Control
Compact has separate LEDs for displaying the
connected read/write heads, the status of the read/write heads, and bus
communication and diagnostics.
LF, HF, and UHF read/write heads can be connected to the IDENT
Control
interface even in mixed mode.
Tags
Tags are available in a wide range of housing designs. The application
and mounting/installation of the tag often determine which type to
use. Special solutions are available for high temperatures, chemically
aggressive ambient conditions, high protection requirements, price-
critical applications, and for mounting on or in metal. Pepperl+Fuchs
offers housing designs for installation in metallic objects (e.g. workpiece
carriers) for the 125 kHz frequency range, in which the coil is embedded
in a shielded ferrite core that enables the bundled inductive field to
emerge from the front.
Fieldbus connection
The IDENT
Control
interface offers integrated interfaces to common
fieldbus systems such as PROFIBUS, EtherNet (supported protocols:
TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, MODBUS/TCP), DeviceNet,
INTERBUS, CC-Link, and serial connections (RS232 and RS485).
The shared control interface means that the command structure and
command philosophy are very similar.
EtherNet/IP maps the data similarly to a standard IO card, so special
configuration software is not required.
Connection to port 10,000 is used as the standard socket with TCP/IP
protocol in order to exchange data. The integrated web server function
facilitates configuration and testing. The integrated SMTP server even
enables alarms to be issued via email in the case of an error.
The MODBUS/TCP protocol is easy to use and offers powerful features.
It enables several control units to communicate simultaneously with the
IDENTControl interface.
PROFINET and PROFIBUS are very similar in terms of operation but
use different hardware. GSD files or GSDML files in XML format provide
the device characteristics.
PROFINET and PROFIBUS support automatic parameterization via the
host and diagnostic messages can be easily forwarded to the host.
DeviceNet connections allow cable lengths of over 100 m with over
50
read/write points due to
their low power requirement.
DeviceNet
offers
automatic
parameterization in the event of a
replacement.
The serial interface is used to
enable local PC solutions and
to adapt software to changed
conditions in a highly flexible
manner. This also enables larger
quantities of data to be read/written
to the tag at once.
LF read/write heads and tags
Identification systems with an operating frequency of 125 kHz are
the most versatile systems and are most often used in automation
technology.
This is partly due to the large selection of tags available in different
designs and sizes, which are suitable for high temperatures, are
available in chemically resistant housings for installation in and on metal,
and feature a degree of protection up to IP68/IP69K.
High temperature
Tags are exposed to high temperatures in many industrial applications.
Tags with a higher temperature class are identified with -T* in the model
number.
High detection range at low frequency
Maximum detection ranges in the 125 kHz range are achieved through
combinations of a large tag and a large read/write head (e.g., IPH-
F15-V1 with Ø 140 mm). Detection ranges greater than 10 cm can be
achieved in nonmetallic surroundings or using spacers.
Memory bank segmentation
All read/write tags (rewritable tags) have a 32-bit memory block. Most of
these read/write tags are based on EEPROM technology and enable at
least 100,000 write cycles.Memory segmentation in 32-bit memory bank
blocks enables you to simply change to the next memory bank block on
the same read/write tag after 100,000 write cycles. Each memory bank
