Introduction
Sensors for Box Installation
The term “box solution” refers
to the integration of sensor
technology into an accessory box
that generates the mechanical
coupling of the sensors on
adjustment drives of different
dimensions.
This solution was developed
to prevent the sensors from
being directly exposed to the
environment, therefore permitting
the use of standard sensors.
Most reputable drive manufacturers offer standard boxes that are fitted with
Pepperl+Fuchs sensors, either with or without visual indication.
Features:
Versatile – the box offers individual connection options
Reliable – the installation is integrated into the box such that it is
resistant to manipulation and prevents dust build-up
Safe – the box complies with the accident prevention regulations
Simple – it is mounted using preadjusted sensors
Compliant – the connection identification of MSR devices complies with
standard DIN 45140 T.1 and the mechanical mounting complies with
VDI/VDE 3845
Standard sensors
For box installation, Pepperl+Fuchs offers cylindrical standard sensors with
shorthousing lengthsupto40mmandslotsensorswithaslotwidthof3.5mm,
along with sensors from the V3 series. These are square-shaped sensors in
standard dimensions for mechanical micro switches. Standard DC versions
andNAMURversionsareavailablewithanextendedtemperaturerange(upto
-50 °C to +100 °C).
Position feedback sensors for box installation
The F25 sensor series by
Pepperl+Fuchs offers an effective
alternative for position feedback on
valve actuators.
They combine two coil systems as
“double sensors” in one housing,
significantly reducing the mounting
and maintenance effort.
Backed by decades of experience,
Pepperl+Fuchs offers a wide range
of sensors and actuators for the
F25 Series that are suitable for
both the box solution and for direct
mounting on the adjustment drive.
Features:
Double sensor - the sensor has two active zones
Safe – it is finger safe, in compliance with the accident prevention
regulations
Variable – it can be mounted directly to the drive or the valve, via a
bracket or in a box
Simple – mounting requires no adjustments or additional settings
Practical – several sensors can be stacked for more than two set points
if necessary
